I’m finding it hard to believe this is even real.
The short version: reviewer gives an apparently self-published book 2 stars out of a possible 5. Author shows up in the comments and demands that the review be taken down, then starts dropping f-bombs.
Wow. Just . . . wow.
Egad!
So, of course I had to go to Amazon, and in one of the five star reviews of her book, someone said, “I hope to give all of my friends a taste for The Greek Seaman.“
I laughed.
I did feel an irrational moment of pique when one comment said that “Seaman” should never appear on a book cover.
Bloody Ada!!
Even The Guardian is weighing in on this one.
Happy birthday!
Totally unbelievable!
I didn’t read all the comments on the blog, but I’m amazed a so called “author” responded this way. And what I find laughable is the original reviewer wasn’t negative about the story. I think you summed it up perfectly in “how not to respond to a book review”!
it is pretty impressive. I would almost think this had been orchestrated, but how on earth could you ensure the publicity it generated?
